Earlier this summer, SheByShe ran a contest asking women to send us their more horrific vacation story. Planes on tarmacs, suitcases left in hotel rooms, cruise sickness...we wanted to hear all about it. And...drumroll please...below is the winning entry.
"Don't Leave Without It"
My brother had a new baby—which was a total surprise because no one knew his wife was expecting—so of course an immediate vacation was underway. My husband and I packed our little one up, hopped in the car, and took off to Las Vegas.
We had credit cards and cash. We decided to just use the cash for gas and thought we’d put the rest of our vacation expenses on our credit card.
The day we arrived, we decided to take everyone out to eat. It wasn’t until it was time to pay, that I realized I had left my card along with all our money at a Red Lobster in Idaho. The kicker here is they couldn’t send us the wallet. They have a policy only to return items if you can show your ID.
We spent the whole time sitting at my mother’s house, not being able to go anywhere or do anything. We even had to borrow money just to get home.
Note to self: check wallet before going anywhere...ever!!!
